PROJECT COORDINATOR TURKEY
The Project Coordinator will report to the General Manager and the technical teams of IIG Headquarters in Belgium.
The position will be based in Istanbul and will involve making site visits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee whole construction process from planning, engineering, design, tender, contracting, construction management to handover;
- Take full project responsibility from the point of land acquisition to turn-key handover;
- Manage all design, tender / contractor selection, project management and contract management processes;
- Coordinate schematic and conceptual designs with the head office design teams;
- Manage development designs-architectural, electrical, mechanical, fire, HVAC etc. locally;
- Effectively manage designs based on cost drivers and ensure optimum design solutions;
- Establish and manage the tendering process to pre-qualified contractors;
- Coordinate design and build projects with appointed contractor;
- Continuously evaluate works of main contractors and actively monitor performance of the pre-qualified main contractors;
- Guide main contractors on use of sub-contractors;
- Monitor relationships with partners and project management firms, contractors etc. for ongoing developments, and establish metrics/KPIs to analyse and track performance of partners and providers;
- Control and manage all procurements by main contractors and subcontractors - material purchases and contractor work completion invoices;
- Monitor necessary coordination to manage project sites and logistics, project documentation, project cost and working capital management, etc.;
- Monitor project expenses and ensure all costs are in conformance with budget;
- Anticipate potential cost overruns and devise alternative construction and design solutions to cost containment issues for approval, as appropriate;
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the approved quality;
- Evaluate proposed sites, survey existing structures, establish scope of work, formulate plans, develop cost estimates and project schedules;
- Ensure adherence to quality, health, environment and safety standards;
- Ensure application and compliance with company Policy & Procedures.
PROFILE
- Male or Female
- Fluent English and Turkish
- University degree with solid academic background, with focus on Architecture, Civil Engineering, Project Management of Land Development, Construction Management
- Over ten years of professional experience
- International management experience in large-scale construction projects
- Experience in industrial/logistic development is an additional advantage
- Experience in Project Management and knowledge of construction
- Knowledge of FIDIC based construction architect and design contracts
- Strong problem solving and organisational skills with analytical approach
- Knowledge of the region, understanding of applicable laws and the regulations
- Able to function in a fast paced, results oriented environment with a high degree of flexibility
- Excellent communication skills
- Enthusiastic, driven, energetic, with excellent leadership and management skills, ability to see the big picture
- Strong decision-making and planning skills
- Capable of handling and solving both project related and organisational problems
- Target oriented and self motivated
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and related reporting tools
