The location of BMW’s new facility in western Poland, close to the German border, perfectly suits its intended use as a distribution centre for car and motorbike spare parts and accessories for the Polish and German markets. It has excellent access to the E30, the main European route that connects Germany to Poland.
IIG’s in-house engineers delivered a solution that covers BMW’s specific warehousing requirements. These include a mezzanine area with shelving, a block-stacking area and a rack-storage area, which is split up into a traditional reach truck zone and an in-rack shelving zone. The proposal includes a 5,900 sq. m extension capacity to cater for anticipated growth in BMW ’s operations in the region.
