Due to significant business growth, Conad needed to consolidate its logistics activities in a new cost optimised distribution centre. After detailed analyses, IIG’s specialist logistics engineers designed a solution that led to remarkable reductions in warehouse space (by 12,000 sq. m), handling equipment (by 48%) and number of operatives (by 94). A further feature of the facility is a cooling warehouse.
Alongside the development of the building, IIG also executed the facility’s logistics fit-out and implemented the software used to control activities within the warehouse. In addition, IIG drafted the tender documents for the selection of a third party logistics provider and managed the tender process. Conad is one of Italy’s largest retailers.
