IIG constructed two high product throughput distribution centres (DC s) for Jerónimo Martins/Biedronka, in Kostrzyn and Wojnicz. The locations of these DC s were determined by supply chain analyses carried out by
IIG, which planned the company’s optimum DC network. The warehouses are each equipped with fifty loading docks, and the Kostrzyn facility includes a 1,000 sq. m deep freeze cold storage area.
IIG supply chain analyses led to an overall 32% reduction in transport and warehousing costs. Jerónimo Martins is a large Portuguese food distribution and manufacturing company, which owns the Biedronka chain of more than one thousand retail stores in Poland, and has hailed its Kostrzyn warehouse as one of the most modern in Europe.
