8.30 I have a quick morning chat about the weekend with my colleagues. Having restored myself with a traditional morning coffee, I check my emails and the initial planning for the coming week
9.00 Recalculate and redesign the logistic concept for one of our pre-contract phase projects, based on the results of meetings and discussions I had with the client in Kiev last week
10.00 Attend the Business Development meeting to keep up to date with the major commercial dossiers and their evolution
10.45 Internal meeting with the IILPS unit to distribute the workload, discuss active logistics projects, their status and the next actions to be taken
11.15 Analyse logistics questionnaires within the weekly planning meeting in order to develop smart logistics concepts; contact colleagues in our local offices all over Europe to solve outstanding questions and to share logistics know-how with regard to their local requirements
12.30 Time for a break: I have an informal and relaxing talk with my colleagues, while enjoying a good (free) hot meal
14.00 Meet a potential vendor of logistics material handling and infrastructure in our offices to discuss possible solutions for a layout and automation study that IILPS is performing for a fast expanding distribution company in Poland
16.30 I go over logistics designs with regard to technical constraints together with our engineering department; in view of offering the optimal solution, we adapt the designs accordingly. Going over the final logistics concepts together with the CAD designers, we provide clear information to produce the drawings
17.30 Execute tests on a logistics localisation software that IILPS is developing together with our IT department. I prepare the demo set of a solution for a workgroup of logistics students who will evaluate the solution for their thesis
18.15 Prepare for the next day, and anticipating the always-differing challenges to come, I go home to solve some minor domestic logistics
