Executive Business Development Director, IIG Belgium
08.00 Ghent administrative centre. I request a second international passport because I will be soon visiting several new Eastern European countries with visa requirements. The second passport allows uninterrupted traveling
08:45 Arrival at Aalst headquarters. I Check my emails and exchange information with colleagues who, just like me, spend much of their time travelling
10:00 Business Development meeting, at which we discuss the current hot leads and projects
10:50 Discuss facility management proposals with the Immo Industry Facility and Property Management (IIFPM) director
11:10 Back to my office, where I check our weekly planning with my colleagues in Ukraine. It’s an important week because we planned possible signing of two Letters Of Intent with prospective clients. I respond to my emails and have discussions with colleagues from several departments who pop into my office. I arrange accommodation abroad for next week, which is more complicated than normal, as most hotels in Kiev are already fully booked. I make some calls with potential clients that I needed to follow up
12:10 I leave for the airport to catch a non-direct flight to Ukraine. While waiting at the airport, I eat a quick sandwich, connect to the internet and exchange email messages
14:00 Boarding
21:45 Arrived in my hotel room in Kiev, the laptop goes open and the day’s last messages are sent over the wifi network. I make sure I’m prepared for an important meeting tomorrow morning and go to sleep around 23:10
