Paralegal, COTTYN-LECOUTRE Advocatengroepering, representing IIG, Belgium
.15 I’ve just arrived at the office. I check my emails, pour myself a cup of coffee and start filing documents
.00 Internal meeting. The annual meeting of the company needs to be prepared. We review the decisions of the Board of Directors, the Board’s report, the annual accounts and we start to prepare the necessary documents
.30 One of my colleagues asks me to draft a power of attorney, a document that gives someone the right to sign on behalf of the company. I find this task challenging. I am studying law at university, and here I get the opportunity to see and do things in practice. My job helps me with the material that I need for my studies and vice versa.
.15 Lunch break. We leave our workplace for a while to go and have lunch at the cafeteria. It’s a great opportunity to meet the people you work alongside and to take the time to chat and meet new colleagues.
.30 I have just received an email saying that few documents are requested by our Polish lawyers. I dive into our data room in order to provide them with the necessary documents.
.00 Together with Tomas, I look through the current structure of the companies and we try to visualise the structure in the software application VISIO.
.00 After checking my e-mails, filing some documents and making my to-do list for tomorrow, I can go home.
